42% Mourvedre, 40% Grenache, 12% Syrah, 6% Petite Sirah. Mourvedre captures the lead of this seamless blend, followed by Grenache, Syrah, and Petite Sirah. Brooding aromas of stewed blackberry and smoked blueberry invite wisps of vanilla glaze and crushed clove. Soft shouldered tannin and succulent acidity nestle as flavors of fleshy plum, spiced boysenberry, toasted oak and melted toffee transcend. Campfire ash, white peppercorn and sagebrush align for a unified end.
Picked throughout September and October, the grapes were fermented into 5-ton open top fermenters and pumped over multiple times per day to achieve maximum extraction. Aged for 22 months in French oak and American oak.During the last 12 months of barrel aging, the blending components were aged together in oak. During the first 10 months they were aged separately by variety.
