Double Gold Medal - San Francisco Wine International Competition
The Syrah varietal originating from the Northern Rhône region is deep and luscious. If given personality traits, it has a dark, brooding, and complex character. The dark side of this syrah reveals itself immediately through the deep purple color. Further intensity is revealed on the nose with black fruit, cinnamon and clove. Aeration brings out leather, herbs, minerals, pepper, and a touch of anise. Completing the walk on the dark side is the palate with flavors of chocolate, dark berries and vanilla. This medium bodied wine can be paired with game meat and sausages for the traditional French experience. For the rebel explorers, you can top roasted duck with Molé sauce for a tasting sensation that will have you declaring, “Olé!”
Picked throughout September and October, the grapes were fermented into 5-ton open top fermenters and pumped over multiple times per day to achieve maximum extraction. Aged for 22 months in French oak and American oak.
