Tasting Notes
The 2020 Rockin’ Ted is a Châteauneuf-du-Pape style red Rhône blend that, like it’s namesake, brings style and structure to the palate. The flavors build upon the cornerstone cherry and vanilla notes. Earthy notes of tobacco leaves and leather combine with baking spices to give this wine a well structured foundation. Final flourishes of greek yogurt, minerals, and a touch of saline complete the architecture of this vin extraordinaire. Versatile with either vegetable or meat dishes, you happily sip along with smokey mung bean tomato dahl. Or, crack this wine with the epic Aussie Burger With The Lot: burger in one hand, full wine glass in the other hand, and don’t let go until you’ve finished. It’s a beaut!

From the Winemaker
A juicy and savory Rhone blend that is hard to put down. This is an extended barrel aged version of our favorite Rockin' One. The Grenache and Mourvedre dominant blend gives it notes of strawberries, lavender, and a sweetly spiced smoke. The Syrah and Petite Sirah add in some bacon character that leads into firm yet gentle tannin structure with a long smooth finish

Winemaking
Cabernet Sauvignon comprises the largest planted acreage at CASS. Picked throughout September and October, the grapes were fermented into five-ton open top fermenters and pumped over multiple times per day to achieve maximum extraction. Aged for 22 months in French American oak and Caucasian oak. During the last 16 months of barrel aging, the blending components were aged together in New French oak. During the first 22 months they were aged separately by variety.
